Role of Leaders/Founders In Creating an Innovative Culture

Leaders play a significant role in the team performance. The successful leaders are those who can lead their organization and teams to make adaptability a standard way of life. Effective leaders help individuals and co-workers how to co-ordinate and assimilate the different styles to drive changes and processes to apply creativity in the organization.
With this they must also keep on discovering and integrating new problems, solving them and then implementing those new solutions for better results. As we know that the innovation is a four step process of generating, conceptualizing, optimization and finally implementing the idea and with having A-class team- if an entrepreneur is effective enough in having them in start- must be first class in their ground of operation.
Getting people to think innovatively together requires the leader to know how to synchronize the thinking of others. Valuing different stages of the process and appreciating different ways of understanding things and using such understanding is especially important in leading interdisciplinary or inter-functional teams as various departments and kinds of jobs favor different stages of the creative process. People tend to lack skills in deferral of judgment, divergent thinking, and evolutional thinking.
Leaders can use skills and tools to help others to work together innovatively. These tools help leaders involve others in finding and solving important new problems. Research shows that involving people in using their creativity is itself motivating. By inducing people to think creatively, the leader creates intrinsic motivation at the same time.

Role of Group Think in Innovation

Not surprisingly, amazing things happen when groups of inventive people congregate. Edison was able to accomplish so many great things, through trial and error and with the help of other inventors in his lab.

Many small-size enterprises exist solely as creative “do tanks,” and large companies like Google are known for their creative-thinking workforce. Wikipedia lists a number of research and development organizations including those mentioned above and others of past, present, and hopefully future fame.
When we see the model of all great firms and their leaders one thing that we shall come to know will be the diversity of human knowledge and the rich interactions that result in an environment of openness fueled by the desire to find novel ideas and approaches.
